About

About this site:

Hi, Yem here. This site is my personal website which serves several purposes…

  • It’s a virtual classroom for some courses I teach at university
  • It’s my personal blogging space
  • It’s an extension of my personality and interests

This site is built on Wordpress and hosted with hosting24. As for Wordpress, I think it’s the best thing since the rubber tyre!

About me:

I was born in the roaring 80’s. A time where transformers and thundercats kept the world and the universe safe. Growing up in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and having a house that can overlook Singapore, I fully understand the value of water and how not to drink any that comes out of you.

I feel that my journey to Australia, and subsequently to KL and later to Kuantan made me a stronger person. Only now do I realize that the world is such a messed up place, and it’s up to me to change it. You guys can help out if you want.

I am very politically oriented. But is terribly freaked out by the Gestapo-styled enforcement. So I’m keeping as low a profile as I can keep. I am also very interested in renewables energy. Imagine using your crap as gas? Wouldn’t that be interesting. Otherwise, I’m thinking of getting a labrador, but social norms keep on prohibiting me from doing so.

I trust the government fully. So much so that I feel that they have every right to know everything about me. In fact, later today, I plan to tell them my childhood ambitions so that they can help improve national security with that information. Heh… yea right.

I love being a muslim. But blowing myself up just to prove it isn’t my thing. I love being a Malay. But kissing the keris and waving it wildly in the air might be a tad too much. I love being a Malaysian. But preferential treatment of a certain race makes me wonder how many Malaysians are truly happy for their country.

Given all that, I love my girls, both Chua and Hannah. They mean everything to me. More than you can imagine….

Write to me if you want to hear something depressing (or amusing, depending on how you look at it using the form provided.

Wassalam…
